Glimpse Terms of Service
DRAFT — REQUIRES LEGAL REVIEW BEFORE PUBLICATION. This document was drafted as a starting point for review by qualified counsel. Do not ship to production users without a lawyer's pass. Particular care needed on: governing-law / venue choice, subscription auto-renewal language (must comply with App Store / Play Store guidelines for IAP terms), arbitration clause enforceability in your jurisdiction, and indemnification scope.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and the operator above. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 if you live in the EU / UK).
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.
- You must not be a person barred from using the Service under applicable law.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for all activity on your account.
- Keep your sign-in credentials confidential.
- Notify us at security@glimpse.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One natural person per account. Don't create accounts for others or sell / transfer accounts.
3. Acceptable use
Use of Glimpse is also governed by the Acceptable Use Policy (separate document). In short: don't use Glimpse to harass, dox, impersonate, post hateful content, infringe copyright, or interfere with the Service. Violation may result in immediate account termination.
4. Your content
4.1 Ownership
You retain all rights in the content you create on Glimpse — saves, visits, items, notes, photos, collections, shares, provenance attributions, and so on (collectively, "Your Content").
4.2 Licence to us
To operate the Service, you grant Glimpse a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, modify (only as needed for technical operation — e.g. resizing images), distribute, and display Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for:
- residual copies in routine backups that age out within 7 days;
- copies retained as required by law; and
- content you previously shared publicly that other users may have saved to their own collections (which become their content under the same licence).
4.3 No public display licence
We do not claim a licence to display Your Content publicly, advertise the Service using Your Content, or sublicense Your Content to third parties. If we ever want to do any of those things we'll ask you first.
4.4 Your responsibility
You represent that you have the rights to Your Content and that Your Content does not infringe third-party rights or violate any law. You are solely responsible for Your Content.
5. Subscription terms (Pro plan)
Glimpse offers a Free tier and an optional Pro subscription.
5.1 Pricing
- Pro Monthly: US$2.59 per month, charged through the App Store or Play Store you subscribed via.
- Pro Yearly: US$19.99 per year, charged through the App Store or Play Store you subscribed via.
5.2 Auto-renewal
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the same price each period until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time in App Store → Subscriptions or Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep Pro access until then.
- We do not have your payment details directly — billing is handled by Apple or Google per their store's own terms.
5.3 Refunds
- Refunds are handled by Apple / Google per the policy of the store you purchased through.
- We may, at our discretion, grant in-app credits for service-degradation incidents.
5.4 Changes to pricing
- Material price changes will be notified in-app and by email at least 30 days before they take effect for your subscription, consistent with the relevant store's policies.
5.5 Trial periods
- If we offer a free trial, terms specific to that trial will be presented at sign-up. Standard trial: 14 days, no charge if you cancel before the trial ends.
6. Termination
- By you: delete your account at any time via Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and cascades through every owned row.
- By us: we may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law. We will give you notice and an opportunity to cure where reasonable.
- Subscription cancellation does not by itself terminate your account — your account drops to the Free tier.
7. Service availability
- We aim for a reliable Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime. We may need to bring the Service down for maintenance, security incidents, or third-party outages.
- We may discontinue the Service or any feature with reasonable notice. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give you at least 60 days' notice and an export of Your Content.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty or liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including, in Australia, the Australian Consumer Law).
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) US$50 OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.
This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of third-party rights. We may control the defence of any such claim, in which case you will cooperate with us.
11. Disputes
11.1 Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of DRAFT — choose jurisdiction (likely South Australia, Australia), without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to the section below, the courts of DRAFT have exclusive jurisdiction.
11.2 Informal resolution first
Before filing a claim, you agree to email support@glimpse.app describing the dispute and proposed resolution; we'll respond within 30 days.
11.3 Arbitration / class waiver
DRAFT — whether to include an arbitration clause and a class-action waiver, and the enforceability of such clauses, depends heavily on jurisdiction. Decide with counsel.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't accept the changes, your remedy is to stop using the Service and delete your account.
13. Apple App Store / Google Play additional terms
If you obtained Glimpse via the Apple App Store or Google Play, the following apply in addition to (and in case of conflict, in priority over) these Terms for in-store-related matters:
- Apple / Google are not parties to these Terms.
- Apple / Google are not responsible for the Service or for support, maintenance, warranties, or product liability claims.
- Apple / Google are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Miscellaneous
- Severability — if any clause is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
- No waiver — failure to enforce a clause is not a waiver.
- Assignment — you cannot assign these Terms; we can assign them in connection with a merger or sale of substantially all our assets.
- Entire agreement — these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Acceptable Use Policy are the entire agreement.
